What happened to Evolution’s Stock Market Cashout Option?

Barely a month after launch, Evolution have made a significant change to their Stock Market Live game.

The CASH OUT button has disappeared. Along of course with the option to cash out your bet portfolio at a time of your choosing.

The “Old” Stock Market Live

Stock Market cashout

A month ago when the Stock Market debuted, the game’s control panel consisted of 3 very conspicuous buttons. UP, DOWN and CASH OUT. Your bets on the hypothetical market movements remained live, rolling into the next round, until you chose to cash out.

Cashing out cost you 1%, leaving you with the following dilemma:

  • do you avoid the 1% cash out and continue to let your bet ride, or
  •  take the 1% hit on frequent cash outs and play it conservative?

Gamblers love a dilemma. And what true gambler doesn’t want to let it ride? Add to this the fact that avoiding the 1% commission and minimising the number of cash during a session was the mathematically optimal play. It does feel a bit like a kerosene to a bonfire type situation.

It wouldn’t surprise if regulators in certain markets encouraged Evolution to tone down the game’s outcome volatility (not to mention it’s addictiveness) a little.

The updated Stock Market Live

The updated Stock Market Live now automatically cashes you out every bet round. The mathematically backed temptation to let those bets ride has been removed.

Updated Stock Market Live game…no CASH OUT option. Rather, you’re automatically cashed out every round

The game is now a simple case of:

  • betting UP or DOWN,
  • winning or losing between 0% and 100% of that bet
  • having resulting portfolio cashed out (less 1% commission)
  • beginning new round with an empty portfolio.

No Strategy…still very good returns

There wasn’t a lot of strategy involved in the old version of this game, other than being mindful of minimising cash outs.

In the new version there is none. No playing strategy to optimise your returns. No wrong decisions to hurt your returns. And returns are very good.

The game’s RNG engine operates to produce a 99% theoretical return to player rate.

For a no skill gambling game that’s about as good as it gets!
